Let's be honest...

Those that know me, know how much I love LOVE.

And I mean, that real unconditional kinda love where we accept each other exactly as we are.  Perfectly flawed.
And that's why I HATE valentine's day!
Picture
Leave it to a capitalism to exploit such a sacred state of being; adding pressures to show "love" by spending money to express emotion when in reality Love is a gift that is meant to be expressed freely and on the daily!

Let's share a bottle of wine, cook some delicious food, touch and be intimate with each other - that's my idea of love! And for those that are quarantined alone, I feel you, I see you.  But this doesn't mean you don't get to love on yourself! Loving on yourself is magical, nourishing, replenishing and invigorating!  Maybe you take a warm rose petal bath, or explore your body with touch and massage, and maybe even steam your Yoni…

Yeah you heard me right.  Steam your Yoni!

For centuries, Medicine Women have been preparing and taking Yoni steam baths.  A holistic practice in which herbs are used with steam to permeate the exterior of the vagina.  Not only is this practice incredibly soothing and relaxing it also has sooo many benefits!

Yoni steams are used to:
  • cleanse the vagina
  • detoxify the womb
  • rejuvenate your jewels
  • increase libido and lubrication
  • restore pH balances
  • regulate periods
  • ease PMS and menopausal symptoms
  • strengthen vaginal walls and reproductive organs

and more importantly….

Yoni Steams connect women to their feminine sacral energy helping them feel juicy, empowered, rejuvenated, and energized!

Yoni Steams are safe and do not hurt.  In fact, it feels utterly delicious!

Just some precautions: Do not steam if you are pregnant, have an active vaginal infection, or are on, or about to, start your period.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
READY TO STEAM?  GOOD!

Ingredients
It's advised you use fresh organic herbs sourced from a local farm but if you don't have one nearby I recommend using Pacific Botanicals. (I'm not getting paid to promote them, I just really trust their stuff.) Use any combination of  the recommended herbs below.
  • Dandelion*
  • Sage
  • Basil
  • Rosemary*
  • Calendula*
  • Rose Petals*
  • Chamomile*
  • Mugwort,
  • Lavender*
  • Mexican Marigold
  • Yarrow*
  • Mugwort*
* Highly Recommended!

Tools
  • A Pot
  • A towel
  • A blanket or two
  • 8 cups of water
  • A bucket you can hover over
  • A pillow or two

Instructions:
  1. In a medium covered pot, pour water (preferably purified water).
  2. Place about a 1/4 cupof your preferred dried herbs into the pot water.
  3. Bring water to a soft boil for 5 minutes.
  4. Turn of the heat, leave the lid on, and steep for another 5 minutes with the lid on.
  5. while the water boils, prepare your steam space by placing a small bucket ( I use the foot bath tub) on a towel, preparing a warm blanket and having extra pillows.  If you have achy knees make sure to provide extra padding!
  6. Pour half of  the water into your bucket/bowl.
  7. Test the herbal water to make sure it is not too hot. Wait if it is.
  8. Remove your underwear and sit over your bucket/bowl
  9. Cover your lower body with a large blanket to ensure no steam escapes. Use the other blanket to cover the other half should you get cold.
  10. Hover over your bucket for about 10-12 minutes You should feel a warm, rolling heat
  11. When the steam dies down dump the watering begin again!
  12. Relax and Enjoy!
