Thai Massage is a form of therapeutic bodywork that uses acupressure, breath, energy, rhythmic motion, and assisted yoga stretches to promote flexibility, detoxify the body and stimulate energy (chi) flow. It's an ancient healing art known for its focus on the sens “energy” lines and its unique bodywork techniques. It's roots are deep in India, Thailand, Buddhism, and Ayurveda. Specifically it combines healing modalities from this region (mostly Yoga, Acupressure, and Metta) into a seamless dance that is beneficial for both practitioner and receiver.
During a Thai massage session, clients lay on a thin mat on the floor, wearing loose fitting clothing. The practitioner uses their thumbs, knuckles, feet, and elbows to work the body and push at pressure points to encourage energy flow. The practitioner also stimulates the energy lines using various techniques including, palming, assisted yoga stretches, acupressure, compression, and subtle energy work.
Thai massage is a beautiful rhythmic dance that helps connect you to your body while increasing its circulation, and flexibility and lowering stress and anxiety.
