What to expect during your Thai Yoga Therapy Session

Thai Yoga Therapy is a deep healing system that uses rhythmic motion, acupressure, palming and thumbing along energy lines, to increase vitality and a sense of well-being of the mind and body.  The therapist works carefully with the energy lines (also known as sens and/or meridians) and guide you through a series of Yoga-like postures to release tension and stress in the muscles, connective tissue, fascia, and help stimulate energy throughout the body.

Thai Yoga therapy offers a series of benefits including deep relaxation and stress relief. On a  physical level, it is known to help detoxify the body, lengthen muscles, increase joint flexibility and improve blood flow.
In preparation for your Thai Yoga Session:
  • Please allow 2 hours since your last meal.  Just like exercise,  all forms of massage are best done with your stomach neither full nor empty.
  • Wear comfortable breathable clothing that covers your legs.  You should always be comfortable, relaxed and breathing easily during a session.
  • Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to your massage.

After your first session you might feel some muscle pain and soreness. This soreness is due to the stretching of your muscles and connective tissue - just like a work out.  This should disappear within the next day or two.  Try to take the rest of the day easy to preserve the relax state of mind and body, and if you can take an epsom salt bath. You deserve it!
